Antonietta Collins

Antonietta Toni Gonzalez Collins (born in Mexico) is an Mexican American broadcaster. Her current job is with ESPN as a news anchor for SportsCenter and sometimes hosts SportsNation. Since 2016, Collins has was a part of ESPN. She is the daughter of television reporter Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta has been bilingual since the age of nine. Her ability was crucial in helping her land her first post as a an assistant to the production team at Univision Miami, where she assisted the production of shows like Nuestra Belleza Latina and Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud. Her next assignment was a Sports Reporter at The CBS St. Petersburg Affiliate. Then she moved into Rio Grande Valley in 2009 to become a reporter at one of the Spanish stations KNVO TV 48 Univision, and Fox2 News. Reporters covered issues related to illegal immigration as well as drug trafficking across both Texas as well as Mexico. Also, she was a substitute for weather anchors, sports anchors and forecasters. Deportes 23 in Dallas, Univision's station affiliated with Dallas. In that station, she was given greater accountability. She wrote pieces on the NBA, Dallas Cowboys' postseason, NBA ALDS ALCS World Series or Finals FC Dallas. Apart from that, she also hosted and produced Univision 23's Accion Deportiva Extra local sports show. She was hired as anchor for sports for Despierta America Deportes for their morning program. She worked in the same role for Primer Impacto on UniMas Network, and Contacto Deportivo for its magazine show. Antonietta Collins was a native of Veracruz Mexico. They moved at some point to Mexico City, where Antonietta Collins was born on November of 1985. She has an older sister. In 1992 her family left Mexico and moved to Miami. Then, shortly afterward they separated, and in 1995 Fabio Fajardo got married again. He died from kidney cancer in the year 2006. Her residence was at Canton Ohio with her older sister over the summer and was provided with the opportunity of a job. Antonietta was just graduating from high school, but was already aware of the things she wanted to accomplish. As it turned out she loved the school and they were offering the degree she was searching for. She finished school and went to the University as a media studies major. Mark Bergmann - her professor and director of WRMU (91.1 FM) which was where she felt at home. Her professor Mark Bergmann inspired her by his passion for journalism. Additionally, he profoundly influenced her.
